Questions To Ask A Roofing Company
These days, service companies are becoming specialized in what they do. That means that the roofing company you talk to about repairing or replacing your roof may offer options that can enhance your final results. Before you settle on a roofing company, you should as a few specific questions to see if you can get more for your money.
Do you offer solar power?
There are so many federal and state tax incentives for installing solar power that it just may be worth looking into when you get your roof re-done. Many roofers are certified solar power installers as well, and they can answer your questions and let you know if adding solar power to your home is worth your investment.
Should I get a metal roof?
The most popular type of roofing material is the asphalt shingle, but the old shingle has been getting a run for its money by new metal roofing products. Metal roofs look great, and last for a very long time. Since they are installed in sheets, they have fewer places where leaks can occur. Ask about getting a metal roof instead of an asphalt shingle roof when you are talking to a roofing company.
Will using recycled products lower my bill?
Some roofers fail to mention that roofing products made from recycled materials are less expensive than products made from new ingredients. Spend a little extra time and find a roofer who will give you a discount for using recycled products.
Will the be cheaper at a different time of the year?
Most roofers have an “off season” where they discount their prices to get work. If your roofing project can wait, then see if you can get a discount by having your roof done at a different time of the year.

I agree that metal roofs look great. That’s why I’m considering investing in that material for my roof. It’s about time to have it replaced since I’ve heard you should have your roof replaced if it’s around 20 years old.
