The Best Time for New Roof Installation

As you are learning which type of roofing material is best for you and your roof and your budget, do not neglect to learn the best time to have your new roof installed. Timing is everything, and that is especially true when it comes to remodeling your home. It is always best to replace your roof on your terms rather that at the whim of a quickly failing roof.

The Off Season

Late summer and fall are often the busiest seasons for roofing companies. Due to the increased demand, this usually correlates with increased price. Not only do you have to pay more for your roof, roofing companies usually have to pay more as well, due to suppliers increasing their prices. To save money while still getting a quality roof, schedule your new roof installation during the spring, early summer or winter.

The Winter Season

If it is at all possible for you to do so, wait to have your roof installed during the winter. This is when you will most likely have your pick of any roofing company in the area, because everyone else most likely had their new roof installed during the fall or summer. You will most likely be able to get the same warranty on asphalt composite shingles as you would any other time of the year. Another great thing about waiting until winter is that the overall price of your roofing materials will probably be cheaper.

When You Have Planned for Installation

Besides timing, getting a new quality roof is all about planning. Find out how long your current roof is likely to last so that you can get an early start on finding out which roofing material, roofing company and price you want to go with. Another great thing about planning early is that you may be able to sign a contract to lock in a price on materials and labor.

It is always in your best interest to be proactive when it comes to your home. Get in touch with a local roofing company to have your roof inspected and to get an idea of when you need to plan for new roof installation.
